Arriving home to the in Earth, Flowing with the Snake
Step into a sacred space where movement and music connect you to the energy of the Lunar New Year & Late Summer & the Earth Element.
This year, we honor the Wood Snake, a symbol of transformation, adaptability, and quiet wisdom, and the grounding presence of the Earth element, inviting us to find balance and stability in our roots.
In this sacred dance space, you will:
🌿 Embody the transformative energy of the Wood Snake—fluid, wise, and adaptable.
🌍 Connect with the grounding power of the Earth element to cultivate stability and self-nourishment.
🌀 Journey through the energetics of late summer, a time of reflection, abundance, and centering.
💛 Reclaim your inner sanctuary as you arrive home to your most authentic self.
What to Expect:
💛A guided opening circle to set intentions.
💛An ecstatic dance with guided by music & cues to help you explore the connection to your inner Earth Element & the journey of the Snake.
💛a grounding closing meditation with live handpan & closing circle to integrate the experience
Arrive at 3:55 pm for a for a 4:00 pm start
Bring: a water bottle, and a yoga mat.
Wear: Red tones to energise the fire element
This dance is an alcohol-free event / LGBTQI friendly / 18+ event
Once the music has begun, we encourage you to keep talking to a minimum so that everyone can enjoy the embodiment!
**Please note, although we are using a church hall, this is a non-religious, non-denominational event.
ABOUT US:
The Canberra Ecstatic Dance Collective monthly dance offering is a safe and supportive space to express, release, and experience joy through movement.
Each dance has a different theme and a different facilitator, BUT every dance will be a safe space to explore movement within a dynamic dance community.
MORE ABOUT THE DANCE:
These dances are lovingly curated to take you on a journey which peaks and brings you gently back down again. The purpose of this dance is to simply let go and let your body move you.
You may find yourself focusing on one part of your body, wanting to connect your body with the floor, or dance with another person (consensually!) You may wish to sit out or lie down and rest. You may feel emotion moving through you.
Whatever is intrinsically and authentically emerging from within is what we are opening up to and creating space for. Uninhibited movement is encouraged, whilst being respectful of others in the space.
