Shawn Camp is a singer-songwriter, guitar and fiddle player, who has written hits for stars for several decades as well as performing his own material. He has written for and with some of the best in the entertainment world such as Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks, Blake Shelton, Brooks & Dunn and George Strait to name just a few.
Camp Co-wrote the number one song performed by Garth Brooks, "Two Pina Coladas" and "How Long Gone' which also reached number one by Brooks and Dunn. Camp also co-wrote Josh Turner’s “Would You Go With Me”. A long-time friend and co-writer with the late Guy Clark.
Camp co-produced a Guy tribute album This One’s For Him, which won the Americana Album of the Year in 2012, and Clark’s final studio album, My Favorite Picture of You, which won the 2014 Best Folk Album award at the Grammys.
Camp’s last release The Ghost of Sis Draper is a tribute to a fiddle-playing legend from his youth. The songs from the album are a collaboration of Camp and Clark. The album is hauntingly beautiful and in his own words, Camp describes The Ghost of Sis Draper as "Partially fairytale and partially truth". The May 1st event will feature many of the songs and stories from Shawn Camp's latest release, honoring and memorializing the late great Guy Clark.
