Shasta College Employer Summit

The Employer Summit is coming to the Gaia Hotel, and you’re invited to an afternoon designed to strengthen, support, and inspire our local business community. In partnership with the Anderson and Redding Chambers of Commerce, this event brings employers together for meaningful learning and connection.

The first portion of the event (2–4pm) features Beyond ChatGPT, an engaging training and panel discussion that breaks down what the AI shift really means for businesses of all sizes—no tech background required.

Then from 4–5pm, enjoy a relaxed networking hour with elevated appetizers as we continue the conversation and build new connections. Doors open at 1:30pm.

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly changing the way organizations operate - and the conversation is moving far beyond ChatGPT.

This engaging and practical session is designed for business owners, executives, managers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders who want to better understand how AI is reshaping the future of work and what it means for their organizations.

We’ll explore how businesses are beginning to move beyond simple AI prompting into a new era of:

• workflow automation
• AI-powered operations
• productivity and efficiency tools
• decision support and data analysis
• customer experience enhancements
• process redesign
• and emerging AI agents that can assist with increasingly complex tasks

In addition to the presentation, attendees will hear directly from local business leaders who are already integrating AI into their operations, workflows, marketing, customer service, and decision-making processes. This panel discussion will provide practical, real-world perspectives on what’s working, leadership implications of AI adoption, including how leaders can thoughtfully navigate change, prepare teams, identify opportunities, and remain competitive in a rapidly evolving business environment.

Whether you are AI-curious or already experimenting with tools like ChatGPT, this presentation will help you better understand the broader AI landscape, separate hype from reality, and identify practical opportunities for your business or organization.

No technical background required.

The event will be held at the Gaia Hotel, with doors opening at 1:30 PM.

Light refreshments will be provided during the earlier portion of the event, including string cheese, trail mix, fresh-cut seasonal fruit, and soda.

For the later portion, guests will enjoy a selection of elevated appetizers, including steak crostini, hot honey chicken bites, arancini, Swedish and BBQ meatballs, bruschetta, prosciutto-wrapped asparagus, seafood ceviche tostadas, vegetable crudité, fresh fruit, and a charcuterie display.
