Get ready for an exciting in-person adventure at Guy Harvey/NSU where you’ll dive deep into the world of sharks alongside some of the best scientists out there. Whether you’re a shark enthusiast or just curious, this is your chance to learn hands-on from experts and discover what makes these amazing creatures tick. Don’t miss out on this unique and thrilling experience!
👥 Limit: 25 participants per expedition
📌 Ages: Open to parents and students ages 8 and up (Students under 15 must be accompanied by a paid adult participant)
🔬 Dive into Real-World Science!
Join us for a one-of-a-kind, hands-on shark research expedition aboard a working research vessel! In partnership with Nova Southeastern University and the Guy Harvey Foundation, participants will team up with top marine scientists to study sharks in the wild Atlantic waters just off Port Everglades.
You’ll learn how to safely catch, measure, tag, and collect DNA and other scientific data on sharks—helping with real conservation work happening right now. Between research sets, you’ll even have the chance to snorkel in the open ocean!
📝 What to Bring:
- Water bottle, snacks, and lunch
- Sunscreen, towel, and appropriate boatwear
- Mask and snorkel (no full-face masks allowed)
- Motion sickness prevention if needed
