About this Event
Since opening Rhythm โn You Piano Studio in 2007, Nicole Ouwenga-Scott has taught countless local youth, many of whom have gone on to study music in college. Her teaching has evolved from traditional training to creative, student-led learning that emphasizes improvisation, composition, ensemble play, and joy.
As an adult beginner student (who is a poet turned singer/songwriter) I came to Nicole wanting to learn the "cliff notes" of music theory, so that I could dive deeper into the collaborative joys and speak "the language" a little more fluently with my fellow producers.
On September 27th, I would like to honor her and give an opportunity for all of her students that she has taught and inspired with her dedication and love of teaching music to share their hearts through the love of sound.
And since music is all about coming together and sharing, all profits of this evenings ticket sales will be donated to the Santa Monica Education Foundation to ensure that students have access to the phenomenal impact of fine art studies and the empathy and connection that art perpetuates.
We hope that you can come and join us for a musical showcase featuring some of the talented musicians that have come through the doors of Rhythm N' You Studio.
All ages are welcome!
Complementary Small Bites and Beverages will be Served. 100% of all ticket sales will be dontated directly to The Santa Monica Education Foundation.
