A space to dance as you like; a research, a freedom, an experiment in not having any agenda to see what's in you.About this Event
- We begin together and finish together. We will meet at 1pm downstairs inside where the sofas are to check in and then make our way up to start together.
- Laura, to hold the space, introduce and answer questions.
- About the practice: gaining a deeper understanding of our embodied experiences through doing as you feel like or as we say: improvisation. You may bring movement techniques you want to explore and develop or simply indulge in the joy of dance and free movement. In doing so, we explore personal sense making of how our attention moves and the needs and desires we have in moving.
- It is suitable for dance artists who work in improvisation as medium or tool to create work and it is open to all who feel drawn to this idea. The one requirement needed is that you look after your own practice as there is no guide. Make sure you observe the other needs in the space so we all have the space we need and everyone can coexist in their practice.
- Sound: sounds of breath and to some extend sounding are welcome. Some sound can be very distracting so if you are into sounding, please keep in mind that others are right beside you sharing it and it will influence their work. At the same time being free to sound as you move also matters, so we ask you to make wise choices and to speak your mind if something becomes too much for you to manage your own explorations.
- For the last second half of the session we may play music from our dance playlist but we check in if the sounds are welcome.
- There are toilet facilities however the studio is on the first floor floor and unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
