Vocal showcase with Washington DC vocalist Sharón Clark and the Keith Waters Trio
Vocal virtuoso Sharón Clark, based in Washington, D.C., has brought festival and concert audiences to their feet across the globe. Her New York run drew raves from the NY Times and the Wall Street Journal and she won New York’s Bistro Award for Best Vocalist. Ms. Clark has made countless international tours, from Europe to Israel to Russia, where she has developed a major following. Ms. Clark won the Gold Medal and $10,000 top prize at the Savannah Music Festival's American Traditions Competition. She then took first place in the Billie Holiday Vocal Competition, which offers a $2,500 prize along with a featured appearance with the Baltimore Symphony.
With her is pianist Keith Waters and his trio. Waters now teaching at the University of Colorado at Boulder, has performed with jazz greats James Moody, Eddie Harris, Bobby Hutcherson, Sheila Jordan, Meredith D'Ambrosio, Dave Liebman, Janis Siegel, and Chris Connor, playing in venues such as Washington D.C's Blues Alley and Kennedy Center, as well as New York's Blue Note and Village Gate. He has recorded and performed throughout the United States, Europe, in South America, and in Russia. His most recent recording is Night Songs, a duo recording with Sharp Nine favorite Scott Sawyer.
