About this Event
Durham Ballet Theatre continues to be been able to offer free performances to those members of the Durham community who are typically excluded from access to the arts due to special needs. Our annual Sensory Friendly performance focuses on those in our community that are differently-abled, as well as others who are under-served culturally, economically and artistically.

Seating is limited to 55 audience members to make sure we have plenty of space for our guests with wheelchairs or assistive devices. Due to limited seating the number of tickets each family can reserve is limited to 4. ALL attendes will need a seat.
By reserving event tickets, you are acknowledging that you understand these requirements and agree to support everyone's well-being by wearing an approved face mask.

What makes this event special?
During this evening performance we leave the lights up and turn the sound down for those who are sensative to lights and sounds. We also encourage the audience to make noise, clap and enjoy the show. During this performance
Are the tickets really free?
Yes, there is no charge for tickets to attend this show.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
No, all ages are welcome. Please do note that the seating and the stage are on the same level without a physical separation. For the safety of our patrons and performers, all audience members must remain outside the stage area for the performance to continue. Seating will be moveable folding chairs that can be rearranged to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers. There are not plans to have concessions available at this time.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
There is ample free parking at Durham School for Ballet and the Performing Arts. There is a ramp leading to the door of the studio that can accommodate wheelchairs.
What can I bring into the event?
We ask that you please not consume food during the performance. Audience members are welcome to go to the lobby adjacent to the performance space to eat food they have brought with them.
