We are honored to welcome Shannon Milliman, the Florence, AL inaugural poet laureate to the store for a poetry/essay reading. Tickets are not required, but an RSVP here is appreciated for planning purposes.
Shannon is a performance artist, poet, and storyteller who thrives on live connection. Her work spans essays, plays, and poetry, including her recent collection What If God Is? What If I Am? published by 7 Points Press. She has toured nationally with her original one-woman show Not So Supernova, a raw and humorous exploration of motherhood’s jagged edges.
An Alaskan by upbringing, seasoned by the Pacific Northwest, and now embracing Southern life, Shannon blends the humor and haunts on her active essay reading tour inviting audiences into a world where family, faith, and fleeting childhood moments reveal unexpected beauty.
Theatrical and lyrical, Shannon writes and performs with soul, heart, and body…because anything less wouldn’t be her. She believes poetry isn’t just words on a page; it’s a living, breathing experience.
