Our national and planetary times bear witness to a number of troubles - rampant chronic health issues, environmental disconnect and pollution (atop climate ignorance), and striking division among different classes and groupings of persons. These issues do not exist within a vacuum - our personal health and lives are touched in various ways by these challenges. And despite our own daily responsibilities, our hearts may call us to find ways that we can help each other (and ourselves) - and to stay sane amidst it all.
Thankfully, shamanisms and other spiritual and wisdom traditions, as well as insights from psychotherapies and modern science, offer us simple and effective tools for helping us do just this - and bridge social activism and personal healing and restoration at the same time.
In this sacred evening, you will discover and experience a plethora of spiritual practices that can aid you in transforming inner and outer toxins.
Together, we will uncover:
- In brief, the nature and global practice of shamanism, and how it can be ethically utilized in the West,
- Core philosophies that teach the interconnectedness of all things - and how our inner states can impact outer reality,
- Multiple simple and immediately-applicable teachings and tools for transmuting toxic thoughts and emotions - and gaining a personal method for doing so from an equally-personal spirit helper,
- The “shaman’s view” of nature - and merging with a star to really understand the power and meaning of expansion,
- The art of transfiguration - shape-shifting into your own inner divine nature - and a group transfiguration healing ceremony for creating drinkable holy water and igniting incredible healing for oneself, others, and all of life,
- And much more.
This evening combines digestible lecture, multiple experiential exercises to gain firsthand knowledge and healing, and question-and-answer periods, all in a welcoming space cultivated for warmth and community connection with like-minded persons. It is suitable both for those with no prior experience of shamanism and those who consider themselves seasoned veterans in the work, as well as those wishing a primer for the upcoming online training, Shamanic Medicine for Personal & Planetary Turbulence (garrettpjackson.com/smpponline), which begins the following day.
Our times appear to be calling for the opening of hearts and greater unity consciousness. As we apply both ancient and modern wisdom to everyday life, we can become conscious initiators of change, at the same time that we initiate personal healing for ourselves. Here, we engage sacred work that can help us not only to bridge social activism and spirituality, but to walk in greater centeredness, connection to the world around us, and a light that can carry ourselves and others through some of the shadows of our contemporary times.

What to Bring (optional but recommended): Something soft to cover your eyes with (such as a sleep mask or bandana), a writing utensil and notebook for note-taking, and a closed container of water for the transfiguration ceremony. Tea will be available at the beginning of the event.
