Workshop OverviewShamanism, Dying and Beyond— Helping Souls Cross with Compassion and Power
An Advanced Core Shamanism Workshop from the Foundation for Shamanic Studies (FSS). This workshop is experiential. You will be practicing throughout the workshop.
In this profound experiential workshop, participants explore the shamanic understanding of death, dying, and the destiny of human souls. Around the world, shamans have long served as psychopomps—the guides who help souls safely transition from this world to the next.
You will learn what happens to the soul after it leaves the physical body, journey to the realms where souls go after death, and practice the classic shamanic methods of assisting spirits who are lost, confused, or unable to move on.
Through shamanic journeying, you will gain the skills and confidence to:
perceive the after-death realms,
communicate with souls who are asking for help,
and safely guide them out of the Middle World into the Upper or Lower World, where they can continue on their soul’s path.
This training is deeply moving, transformative, and grounded in the ancient, cross-cultural methods researched and taught by Michael Harner.
