Artist Bio
Praised by The Hindu for her “nuanced performance,” Kavya Ganesh brings radiant artistry, theatrical depth, and contemporary imagination to Bharata Natyam. Trained under Rama Vaidyanathan, she has toured internationally with the Akram Khan Company’s Thikra project and collaborated with Bharata Natyam artist Mythili Prakash.
In MARGAM, Kavya moves with sculptural clarity, imagination, and magnetic grace, juxtaposing timeless repertoire with her featured work Indhumukhi, unfolding each piece with emotional intensity and luminous presence.
At just 23, her work has already traveled across India, the U.S., Europe, and Asia, weaving Bharata Natyam with theatre, film, and contemporary performance into a language both rooted and new. A graduate of Yale University’s Conservatory for Actors program, she founded the Kavya Ganesh Company in 2025 to create multidisciplinary works alive with movement, storytelling, and bold new artistic dialogue.
