When Viola is shipwrecked on the shores of Illyria, she disguises herself as a man and enters the service of Duke Orsino—only to find herself caught in a web of unrequited affection, mischievous pranks, and witty banter. Filled with music, laughter, and romance, this free outdoor performance invites audiences of all ages to experience the magic of live theatre in the open air.Bring a picnic and a chair and settle in at the historic Chestnut Ridge Park Amphitheater on Saturday, September 13th, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Friends of Chestnut Ridge Park, supported by Akron Parks Collaborative have organized three free events this summer (this is the third and last), funded through a placemaking project grant from ArtsNow and the Summit County Land Bank (with support from the National Endowment for the Arts).
Chestnut Ridge Park was one of the three parks who were awarded the Akron Parks Challenge funding in its first round in 2018. The park was improved with electricity at the amphitheater for sound, a new playground, a walking path and improved seating. The park is located at 1926 19 St. SW with parking lot and on-street parking available.
