About this Event

Join us in Rockport Hall at Artscape Weston Common for The Snow Queen; a play adapted from the famous original story by Hans Christian Andersen, this is the story of Gerda, a little girl who searches for her friend Kai when he is bewitched and imprisoned by the Snow Queen in her ice palace. In order for good to conquer evil, Gerda enlists the help of some very interesting characters along her journey! You won't want to miss this family-friendly tale of friendship, adventure and finding yourself - and it's right in time for the holiday season!

This production will be presented on behalf of Shakespeare in Action and our Act NOW! participants (ages 7-11) who have been hard at work for 8 weeks to hone their creativity, strengthen their communication skills, work on their acting skills while still having tons of fun and, of course, preparing this wonderful story to share with all of you!

In compliance with Mandatory Provincial Requirements, proof of full vaccination (two doses plus 14 days) will be required for attendance by all patrons, artists and staff over the age of 11 at the Artscape Weston. Masks must be worn at all times, in the theatre and kept on for the full duration of the performance.

All safety protocols issued by the Province of Ontario and the City of Toronto will be in place. Therefore, we ask that you pre-register for this event and arrive at least 10-15 minutes before the performance begins so you don't miss any of the fun.

Performance Schedule:

December 11th at 7:30pm

December 12th at 2:00pm

The performance has a run time of approximately 60 minutes with no intermission.

COVID - 19 Safety Protocols and Seating:

In compliance with Mandatory Provincial Requirements, proof of full vaccination (two doses plus 14 days) will be required for attendance by all patrons, artists and staff at the Artscape Weston. Masks must be worn at all times, in the theatre and kept on for the full duration of the performance.

- We will be operating at 2/3 of the performance space's capacity to ensure we are able to host all audience in a manner that allows for social distancing with seating.

- Upon your arrival, you will be asked a few self-evaluation COVID screening questions. This questionnaire will also be sent to you via email 24 hours prior to your arrival to the event. One member from the group you will be attending with will be asked to provide a name and phone number for contact tracing.

- Hand sanitizer will be available on site.

- If you experience COVID 19 symptoms, please stay home, self-isolate, and contact Toronto Public Health (416) 338-7600.
