Shabazz Palaces' futurism has always been intertwined with the past and present. Ishmael Butler and his team dance through the eras of rap. Their songs are influenced by old-school classics as well as psychelica and melodic electronica. This versatility can be heard on "Robed in Rareness," released in late 2023. Just a few months later, the band announced follow-up 'Exotic Birds od Prey'.
