Shaatnez Duo presents an exciting repertoire of Israeli music from different eras, along with a diverse selection of world-music and original compositions. Alon and Amir, both Israeli born, have been performing worldwide for over three decades, and together they create a fascinating fusion of musical traditions, and innovative interpretations to favorite Israeli tunes, combined with jazz, Mediterranean, Balkan and Latin influences.

Flutist AMIR MILSTEIN established his career in the world-music scene founding acknowledged ensembles such as Bustan Abraham and Tucan Trio, with which he performs worldwide. Amir's flute is featured in over 100 albums, collaborating with Israeli and international artists such as: Zakir Hussein, Tito Puente, Matti Caspi, Idan Reichel, Shlomo Gronich, Gidi Gov, Leah Shabbat, and many others.His works include original compositions and arrangements for dance groups and film scores, as well as numerous appearances for music programs on Israeli television.As an educator, Amir has been teaching and presenting workshops at music schools including: the New England Conservatory, Northeastern University, Hed College of Music, Berklee College of Music, etc.

Grammy award winner, pianist Alon Yavnai, is considered one of the leading voices in Israeli and international jazz scene. Alon is an eclectic musician who performs with classical orchestras, jazz big bands and a wide array of world-music ensembles. Throughout his career he has released numerous albums of his own works, and has collaborated with renowned artists such as: Yo Yo Ma, Paquito D'Rivera, Freddie Hubbard, Regina Carter and The New York Voices, among many others. Alon is also a prominent composer and arranger and holds a masters degree in composition from Brooklyn College. He composes regularly for the NDR orchestra in Hamburg- Europe's leading big band, and presents workshops and master classes at Music Colleges around the world.
