The Ellen and Warren Tallman Writer-in-Residence Program at SFU’s Department of English was founded by emeritus professor Roy Miki in 2004. It was soon supported by the Ellen and Warren Tallman Endowment, and has enjoyed the support of the Dean of Arts, Department of English, and other donors over its 20 year history. We invite you to celebrate this special anniversary with us on Friday, February 7th. The doors of the ICBC Salon will open at 6 PM. We welcome you to enjoy light refreshments and the cash bar, as well as mingle with fellow guests at that time. The event will begin at 7 PM. Our Chair, Professor Stephen Collis, will open the event and invite former writers-in-residence to speak and read (a list of speakers is forthcoming).
A roundtable discussion will follow the readings. Then, you'll have an opportunity to meet the writers during a lightly catered reception (cash bar will re-open), beginning at approximately 8:45 PM. The event will conclude at 10 PM.
