About this Event

Join us at KARIBU by Wachira for a unique wine tasting and research experience hosted in partnership with San Francisco State University.

Take a moment to read the story of our winery. Pay what you think a half glass of natural red or white wine is worth, then enjoy.

This special event is part of a research study on how people determine what a wine tasting is worth.

How It Works
  • Read a short story about our winery
  • Pay what you think it’s worth (minimum $5 | one half glass per guest)
  • Enjoy a half glass of natural red or white wine

This event is part of a research study exploring how people determine what a wine tasting is worth.


Purpose of the Study

You are invited to participate in a research study that explores how people determine what a wine tasting is worth.


Procedures

If you choose to participate:

  • You will read a short story (1 paragraph) about a winery
  • You will pay what you want for a half glass of natural red or white wine (minimum $5 | one glass per participant)
  • You will then enjoy your tasting

Participation will take approximately 5 minutes.


Confidentiality

No identifying information will be collected. Responses and payments are anonymous. Data will be used for research purposes only and stored securely.


Risks and Benefits

Risks are minimal and similar to those encountered in a typical wine tasting setting (e.g., consumption of alcohol in small quantities).

There is no direct benefit to you, but your participation will help researchers better understand consumer behavior.


Eligibility

You must be 21 years or older to participate.
