About this Event
Do you have the skills, knowledge and passion to help improve community safety in Scotland?
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) is undergoing a period of change, looking at ways of reshaping and modernising the organisation to ensure that resources – staff, stations and appliances – are matched to operational risk and demand across Scotland.
We are evolving to continue to respond effectively to the changing safety needs of Scotland’s communities and the dynamic environment we operate in and we are now seeking five new Board members.
We would like to invite you to one of our informal engagement events to hear more about the SFRS and how Board members can make a difference.
The events are designed to help prospective candidates understand the role, meet our team and explore how their experience aligns with what we’re looking for.
At the event, you will hear from the Chair of the SFRS Board, Mhairi Wylie and from some of our current Board members, who will explain their role. Additionally, SFRS Chief Officer Stuart Stevens will be there to provide more context to the role.
If you require more information or have any questions about the application process, please contact the Scottish Government Public Appointments team.
We welcome individuals from a wide range of backgrounds to consider whether this non-executive role may be a suitable opportunity for them.
