How much do we understand sexual diversity, and what light can our spiritual knowledge throw on gender?
Where do spirituality and science meet in our rapidly changing culture and practices?
Are there just two sexes?
Is gender determined by sex?
What characterises masculinity and femininity?
Are there grounds for transition from one gender to another?
This workshop is to provide an opportunity to gain knowledge of current developments in biological science on these matters – as well as a spiritual perspective. There will be participation in discussions, and exploration of social and moral as well as theological and political implications and controversies.
This workshop will be led by Michael Stanley who is a Senior Tutor with the Swedenborg Open Learning Centre.
Workshop fee: £10 includes light lunch and refreshments.
