About this Event
Start your sewing journey or take it to the next level! This class offers a clear learning path, from basic sewing machine skills and a zipped cushion project to a wide range of project options and, for the ambitious, the art of pattern cutting and garment design.
- Beginners: Learn sewing machine basics and create a zipped cushion.
- Experienced Sewers: We have lots of options to inspire and aid your learning from a variety of interior, gift, and garment projects, or you can bring your own.
- Pattern Cutting: Create custom skirt and bodice blocks, then learn to design and make skirts, tops, and dresses.
Meet Your Tutor:
As the owner of the Bowery and a seasoned art educator, Sandra brings the rigour of the fashion industry directly to your sewing machine. With a career spanning commercial apparel to serving as a Secondary Head of Textiles and GCSE Examiner, she bridges the gap between professional construction and creative craft. A regular at the national Knitting & Stitching Shows, Sandra has taught over 500 people to sew at the Bowery. Her 18 years of experience ensures you receive expert technical guidance at every stitch of your journey.

We are able to provide credit / transfer onto another course or workshop if there is two or more weeks’ notice.
Within a two-week period, under no circumstances can we transfer you onto another event. We have incurred material costs & committed numbers to the tutor.
