About this Event
At our FREE drop-in sewing-class “Sew You Can!”, you get to join a relaxed community setting and learn/practice your sewing skills or work on your own projects independently. Our facilitator Nicki (they/them) will help you learn e.g. how to replace buttons, patch holes, take up hems, fix ripped seams, or pimp up your clothes in DIY ways.
Our session’s focus is on clothing repair, so bring along any of your own items that need some love! If you don’t have anything, you are just as welcome to practice on our fabrics. All materials will be provided.
Sew You Can is a free monthly drop-in sewing class at Springburn Auditorium. Beginners welcome, suitable for ages 16+
Stay for a little while or for the whole three hours, it's up to you!
There will be hot and cold drinks, crisps and home-baked cakes for sale to support our running costs. Vegan options available.
ACCESSIBILITY INFO
- Our venue is wheelchair accessible, with a step-free door on the left-hand-side of our building front. There are toilets on site with one accessible toilet cubicle (door width: 80cm). Please note, while we use these toilets during our events, they are not managed nor maintained by us.
- During our events, we might play gentle background music but we are happy to turn the volume down if this helps lower overstimulation.
- The building is made of corrugated metal. There is no heating nor insulation, so please wear layers! We do have some blankets.
