Sew Together Bag Sewing Workshop - 1 Day Virtual Sewing Workshop

Join us for a fun and interactive virtual sewing workshop where you will learn how to make your very own ! This bag is perfect for make-up, sewing tolls and "sew" much more. You'll find yourself wanting to start another one straight after we finish as they make the perfect gifts.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE WHEN YOU SIGN UP

> a FREE digital copy of the pattern (usually $12)

> a FREE coloring sheet so you can plan which fabric to put where

> a checklist of all the pieces you need to cut before the workshop starts

WHO IS THIS SUITABLE FOR?

> You do need to be familiar with using a sewing machine, and to have one in good working order that you can use during this workshop. This workshop is NOT suitable for people who have not used a sewing machine before.

> You do not need any previous bag making experience.

> Children are welcome to attend as long as they already know how to use a sewing machine or have an adult with them who can.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

> A regular sewing machine foot plus a zipper foot for your brand of machine. (I will show you how to use the zipper foot!)

> 18x22" (fat quarter) of fabric for your exterior, and a second piece the same size for your binding fabric

> 18x44" (half yard) of fabric for your lining

> 12x44" (third yard) of fabric for your pocket linings

> 1/2 yard of fusible lightweight interfacing

> 18x22" of fusible foam stabilizer or fusible fleece

> an18" zipper and three 9" zippers

> a sewing machine in good working order, a bobbin wound with your thread color of choice, a new sewing machine needle, pins, scissors etc

You will get links and product suggestions, as well as cutting instructions and a coloring diagram you can use to plan which fabric to use where, within 24 hours of registering. You can also make a scrappier bag with smaller quantities of different fabrics. There will be more about this with the diagram.

The number of attendees is limited to 10 to ensure everyone gets individual attention.

Bea (pronounced "bee") [she/her] is an experienced teacher and lecturer specialising in all things textile. Originally from the UK, she came to the Bay Area via Tokyo about 10 years ago.
