Welcome to Sew Lovely Jubbly, a brand new custom designed retreat and class space in Ferndown, just doors away from your favourite fabric shop, Lovely Jubbly Fabrics.Join us for 2.5 days of stitching fun at one of our weekend retreats.
Wings with Matt Wilding Class - Join us at Sew Lovely Jubbly with our Guest Educator and Festival of Quilts winner, Matt Wilding. This is a 2.5 day class event with Matt where you will learn to make one half of his beautiful Wings of Pride, his unique foundation paper pieced wings (one wing).

The class includes the instructions and patterns and stabilisers to make one wing and your knowledge gained during this class will allow you to make your second wing independently with the pattern provided. You will need to bring your sewing machine and fabrics (we are planning on selling a kit of fabrics for this - more information to follow).
The space:
Choose from one of our 14 allocated deluxe workstations complete with desktop shelving, adjustable work light, protective desk mat, cutting mat and mini shelf system on wheels and an ergonomic chair. Plus, a goodie bag!
We provide separate storage for your sewing machine bag / box, a fridge with a dedicated space for each guest, a storage cubby for your extra supplies, large cutting table and ironing station.
Choose your workstation:
Our 14 workstations have allocated seating. Check the workstation map in the product photos and select your seat when booking. We have a "Lovely" group of 6 spaces, and a "Jubbly" group of 8 spaces, all numbered to correspond to the seat plan.
Booking:
You can book for one or more guests. As this is allocated seating, we ask you to provide the guest name and guest email address for each seat (we must have contact information for each guest, not just the information for the person making the booking). If you are booking for more than one person on a single transaction, all payment plan invoices will be sent to the person who makes the booking.
The retreat theme: Wings with Matt Wilding
This is a class with Matt Wilding to learn to make one of his Wings of Pride. All patterns and stabilisers are provided, you will need to bring your chosen fabrics (more info to follow) - we will be offering fabric kits for purchase.
Communal space is limited.
No spray adhesives will be permitted for use on site.
No open containers for drinks will be permitted in the space.
Enjoy time with like-minded sewists in our dedicated luxury retreat space. We also provide time to shop at Lovely Jubbly Fabrics each day.
All of our events are non-residential.
We do not provide meals / accommodation.
This will be hosted at Arena Business Centre in Ferndown, Dorset, where Sew Lovely Jubbly and Lovely Jubbly Fabrics are located.
Price: £374.50
Available payment plans:
Option 1: £74.50 Deposit - Plus 3 x Payments of £100. Payments scheduled according to date of booking.
Option 2: £74.50 Deposit - Plus 5 x Payments of £60. Payments scheduled according to date of booking.
Weekend Schedule:
Friday 29th May: 1pm - 10pm
- 1pm - 6pm Class time with Matt Wilding.
We have no additional scheduled events so you can leave to check in to your hotel, get dinner, and come back for more sewing.
Saturday 30th May: 10am - 11pm - Bring packed lunch
- 10am - 5.30pm Class time with Matt Wilding.
- Shop Open 4pm - 5pm.
- We arrange a group dinner at The Old Thatch or The Angel pub 6pm (not included in the price - you will be responsible for paying for your meal).
- 8pm - Show and Tell - Bring your beloved projects to share with the group.
Sunday 31st May: 10am - 6pm - Bring packed lunch
- 10am - 5.30pm Class time with Matt Wilding
- Shop Open 4pm - 5pm.
You will need to bring:
Please bring your own packed lunch for each day. We will arrange an evening meal for Saturday at a local pub - you will be responsible for paying for your meal at the pub. You will need to book accommodation locally if an overnight stay/s is required.
Your sewing machine, tools and fabric for the wings (info to follow) - all patterns and stabilisers will be provided.
Items for show and tell - we strongly recommend you take part.
Sealed container/s for your beverages.
There are tea and coffee making facilities on site and we will provide snacks - please advise if you have any allergies that will affect our snack provision.
Dietary requirements:
Please provide full details of any allergies so we can ensure our snacks on site are suitable for all attendees.
Terms & Conditions:
We have invested a lot of money making this space special for our guests. We ask that you take care of your allocated workstation and communal spaces. Damage and breakages caused to workstations including but not limited to damage to the desktop, chair and shelving storage systems will result in a set £100 damage charge which is the responsibility of the guest and will be invoiced. We have provided a protective mat for your sewing machine as well as a cutting mat at each workstation.
Cancellations:
Deposit is non-refundable. By booking to join the retreat you are committing to pay the full cost of the event.

Cancellations made on or after February 1st 2026 and on or before February 28th 2026 will be refunded 50% amount paid to date of cancellation minus deposit value of £74.50.
Cancellations made on or after 1st March 2026 and on or before 31st March 2026 will be refunded 30% amount paid to date of cancellation minus deposit value of £74.50.
Cancellations made on or after 1st April 2026 will not be eligible for a refund under any circumstances.
