‘The six wives of Henry VIII and Me.’
Laura Liptrot cordially invites you to step into the world of six wondrous women and hear how their stories related to the emotions and heartache of women today. Catherine of Aragon: a life cast aside for a younger model. Anne Boleyn: a passionate reformist. Jane Seymour: the deviously demure ‘perfect Tudor wife’. Anne of Cleves: survivor. Kathryn Howard: a woman who might have come to realise that she was more than men wanted her to be. And Katherine Parr: might she have rejoiced at the passing of the king and the regaining of her freedom?
With letters and speeches combined with inner monologue and theatrical interpretations of the words, Laura brings these women vividly to life in this powerful and honest drama.
------
Laura is a poet and actor from Stourbridge She is passionate about bridging the gap between the rich and the poor – the masters and the homeless. Her ambition is to make theatre/art more accessible to everyone, regardless of wealth. She also wants to bring a lot of joy into the world and invite people to forget their problems through comedy.
Laura began her writing career at the age of 10, and after a hiatus of over a decade, began writing semi-professionally in 2017. To date, she has published four poetry collections, one play and is has numerous film and short film scripts waiting to be produced. When she isn’t writing, she is acting, and most recently was the female lead both: the feature film, Axel Falcon and the short film Faith.
Laura seeks, through her writing, to inspire others to find the very best in themselves and in the universe; to fight and win battles against negativity and to transform the ugly into the tremendously beautiful. Every story is precious. Every story is unique.
