Prolific South Korean chef and restauranteur, Hong Kim would like to welcome you to peek inside the kitchen of Seven Star Pocha Chinatown’s as we prepare to launch
Grandma’s Traditional Kimchi Making Masterclass Series to be guided by the Kim family’s grandmother and former chef, Shinjo JANG from Ulsan, Korea.
The tradition of making kimchi started as a way to ferment and store vegetables during the cold winter when many Koreans died of starvation. It is now the most ubiquitous side dish on a Korean table every day and a long-standing way of passing on cultural heritage, with each family having their own special way of making kimchi.
As Melbourne settles in for winter, we would like you to come and meet the matriarch of this family and be welcomed into this seasonal culinary event and experience first-hand how this masterclass series will work and enjoy some of Hong’s authentic Korean menu highlights.
Join us at Seven Star for our first Kimchi making class with grandma.
The class itself will take approximately 1 hour and you get to take 1L of kimchi home.
Followed by a 3 course Korean Set Menu lunch with 2 drinks included one glass of wine, beer or one Soju Cocktail.
