Saturday November 16 Join us for a class of Mindful Movement Yoga that moves us into a full immersion in the art of Shavasana relaxation. In this experiential class, we will explore the ancient practice of Shavasana. The earliest mention of this pose is in the Ancient Text 15th century Hatha Yoga Pradipika 1.32, which states in the context of a medieval belief system that "lying down on the ground supine, like a corpse, is called Shavasana.
Shavasana can help us to reduce stress and tension. It eliminates tiredness and promotes calmness of the mind. Practicing this pose yogis and yoginis can move into a relaxed neutral state and allows one to reflect on the practice itself. I've personally experienced very healing, peaceful, and spiritual moments in Shavasana.
Because comfort is essential in the pose; we will use props to fully support the body so that the body and mind can move into a relaxed state with ease. Even a small amount of discomfort can be very distracting, so supporting the body for comfort is very important.

The practice of Shavasana can help us move from a state of stress and anxiety to a state of rest and digest. This is a state in which digestion, the immune system, and other essential systems are rejuvenated recalibrated and enhanced.
Rest is as essential as exercise. Now more than ever, it is essential to carve out some time for yourself to rest your weary mind and deeply relax your body.
Fee is $15 to be paid the day of class. Cash or an invoice can be provided to be paid the day of.
What to bring and wear: comfortable clothing/ Yoga clothes, Yoga Mat, Blanket.

It is kindly requested that at least up to a two hour cancellation notice be given before class starts by DM or through the website contact form, if you register and need to cancel. This is an in person class held at The Wild Soul Sister in Neenah inside the Old Post Office Building 307 S Commercial St. Please use side entrance near the parking lot. We are located in the lower level within the Wild Soul Sister.
