Sessions at Stained Glass is a monthly concert series from the music studio of Peter Smith. For vol.21, we're doing something I've wanted to do for a while-- featuring another pianist! Tamir Hendelman is one of the best players around, having performed with so many greats from John Clayton and Jeff Hamilton to Barbara Streisand! Mike Gurrola and Marcello Carelli will be joining on bass and drums, respectively. These guys are first-call players and do a lot of playing with both Tamir and Peter. Peter will be joining as well, on organ and piano. Should be a fun and creative afternoon with some musical chairs!
There will be light refreshments served, free of charge.
Stained Glass Music Studio is located in the First Baptist Church of Pasadena. Parking meters are not enforced on Sunday. Alternately, you can park in the garage at 150 E. Holly Street 91101. You can park in any blank spot or any spot marked "First Baptist Church." Bring in your garage ticket for validation. Someone will meet you at the front door on Marengo and guide you upstairs. Important*: there are two short flights from the second floor (8 steps each) up to the studio, which are unavoidable. There is no elevator access to the space itself.
