SERVICE OF HEALING & HOPE
An Interfaith Gathering for Immigrant Justice
Monday, May 4, 2026

In the midst of these troubled times, we gather as neighbors:
- To renew our commitment to immigrant justice
- To expand our vision for neighboring
- To grieve and lament what is being lost
- To name our fear and anger — and not be ruled by them
- To sing our resistance to injustice
- To find healing and hope together
We welcome all Coalition members, friends, and anyone who cares about immigrant justice and the flourishing of our shared neighborhood.
5:00 PM — Gathering We will gather at tables in the Mullin Life Center at First Presbyterian Church, share a simple meal together, and reflect on what it means to be neighbors in this moment. "Neighboring" is the theme of this next phase of our Coalition's work:
"Neighboring is the practice of standing with our immigrant neighbors not as rescuers, but as fellow members of one community whose safety, freedom, and flourishing are bound up together."
6:30 PM — Interfaith Service of Healing & Hope Interfaith clergy leaders will guide us together through grief, fear, and anger — and toward healing and hope. The service includes local musicians and the powerful tradition of Singing Resistance songs, which we will learn and sing together.
Throughout the evening, local immigrant and refugee agencies will have information tables highlighting their services, needs, and opportunities to get involved.
RSVP by April 26 so we can plan for food and space.
Please share this invitation with those you encourage to attend.
A freewill offering will be received to cover the cost of the meal and to support the immigrant justice work in our community. A suggested donation of $10 or more per person will help us cover the event's costs (food, etc.) and support the Coalition's work.
The event is free. We encourage donations to cover the event costs and to support the immigrant justice work in our community. There are two ways to donate:
- Bring cash or a check to the event. Checks can be made out to GIIJC.
