About this Event

Poet, author, performer, actor, director and even painter, Serge Gainsbourg is an accomplished artist who knew how to give voice to Brigitte Bardot, Catherine Deneuve, Isabelle Adjani and naturally Jane Birkin, who became his muse. Provocations, excess but also delicacy and modesty...
Lucien Ginzburg born into a white Russian family exiled in Paris. At a very young age, he learned the piano even if his first loves led him more towards drawing and painting. From Ginzburg to Gainsbourg:
To pay for his studies at the Beaux-Arts, he plays in bars.
He published his first songs in the mid-1950s before deciding definitively on painting as a means of livelihood. He opted for his artist name, Serge Gainsbourg, in homage to the English painter Gainsborough, who is pronounced Gainsbourg.
