About this Event
Serenity Flow Yoga and Sound Journey is a combination of gentle movement and deep resonant sound, offering an opportunity to unwind, stretch out, and drop into a deep and soulful sound meditation savasana. This offering will begin with a 30 minute yoga practice of restorative poses to help prepare mind and body for relaxation during the 45-minute sound journey that will follow.
We’ll begin with a beginner-friendly gentle yoga practice to create ease and softness, and to prepare the body for the deep, sustained resonance of sound instruments including crystal singing bowls, ocean drums, rain sticks, gongs, various seed and bell chimes and shakers. This combination helps slow down our brainwaves, activate the parasympathetic nervous system and turn down our vigilance response, cultivating a sense of ease to encourage deep relaxation. Simply listen and allow the sound waves to wash over you, guiding your body and mind into a state of calm and balance.
Please bring a yoga mat, a water bottle and an eye covering if you have one. Comfort is key, please feel free to bring anything else that serves: a blanket, pillow and socks can help keep you cozy and warm, but nothing extra is required to attend and enjoy this yoga sound journey.
Serenity Flow Sound Journeys is the vision of Raissa and Jess to combine our yoga and musical backgrounds and interweave our sound instruments to create a sweet, safe and soulful space to drop into self-connection.
Raissa Lerner is an E-RYT 500 certified yoga teacher and passionate student of yoga and yoga philosophy as it applies to modern life. Her signature soul-powered vinyasa classes approach the practice as a sacred heart-opening journey ~ a deeply intentional moving meditation. Raissa began practicing yoga in 1995 as a busy working mom and began teaching in 2012, having completed over 750 hours of advanced teacher trainings with Janet Stone, Shiva Rea, Mark Whitwell, Rusty Wells, and others. In 2022, Raissa began incorporating sound bowls into her restorative yoga offerings and has since completed sound bath training with Sound Meditation artists Guy Douglas and Simona Asinovski. Raissa collaborates with other teachers, musicians, sound artists and bodyworkers to create special events for public and private clients.
