Our season finale, Serenade to Music, will feature Ralph Vaughan Williams’ mini-masterpiece of the same name accompanied by piano and a violin soloist. This harmonically lush work was composed in 1938, written as a tribute to conductor Sir Henry Wood with lyrics adapted from Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice.” It is a deeply expressive homage to the transcendent power of music. The concert will also feature several "favorites" by Mozart and some soul-stirring American folks songs and spirituals, in preparation for our choir tour to Austria in June 2026. Concert-goers are invited to a reception immediately following the concert to celebrate 28 years of music making! Light refreshments, hors d’oeuvres, and desserts will be served.
