With Staging the Concert, Bozar introduces a new format in which visual art and music enter into dialogue. New dimensions of the concert experience are explored through the interplay with space, light and materials.๐๐ป๐ณ๐ผ & ๐ง๐ถ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ฒ๐๐ โถ https://www.bozar.be/en/calendar/staging-concert-0
Between 1958 and 2002, Italian composer Luciano Berio composed 14 groundbreaking Sequenze for solo instruments, in which he radically pushed the boundaries of virtuosity and expression. In each Sequenza, Berio develops a complex musical idea beyond mere technical mastery. Alexander Vantournhout selected five of them - for violin, voice, trombone, accordion and harp - and, together with four performers of Not Standing, created a performance exploring the physical possibilities of Berio's music. During a unique tour through the Palace of Fine Arts, a fascinating dialogue emerges between Horta's iconic architecture, the musicians and the performers' acrobatic movements. Music, space and movement merge perfectly.
