The centerpiece of this particular session will be the Scripture found in Philippians 4:6-7:
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God. And the peace of God,
which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Sarah Hellmann is an author, artist, and speaker. After earning her PhD from the University of Cincinnati, she founded the ministry Art for All People (AFAP), which was inspired by her own struggles with mental illness and addiction. AFAP brings the healing arts to people suffering from addiction, incarceration, mental illness, homelessness, veterans suffering from PTSD, and women affected by sex trafficking and exploitation. Sarah also spends some summers working in Rwanda with people affected by the genocide.
Sarah believes that when dealing with pain, addiction, and loss there are often no words to explain the extent of suffering. This is when the language of the arts becomes essential. Sarah is a life-long artist. Her mission is to inspire others to use their inherent creativity toward healing and empowerment.
Sarah’s book, Broken-Down Jalopies and Other Short Stories: Perspective Changes Everything is now available on Amazon.
