September Kollab

We're launching an Autumn Run of Kollabs with two stunning local musical collaborations, The Claras and Alfonso the Magnificent. Expect harp, folk, latin, accordion, violin, guitars and songs that tell stories. (Read their bios below).

As usual there's plenty of slots available in the Open Mic, all forms of creativity welcome - poems, stories, songs, comedy, dance... or surprise us!

There's no bar, so please bring your own drinks, hot or cold, alcohol or otherwise.

THE CLARAS

The Claras are a Sussex-based folk duo consisting of harpist and singer Clare McGlone and singer and guitarist Claire Rakich. Performing traditional songs from the British Isles and beyond, alongside originals and the occasional left-field cover, The Claras tell stories through song. Their unique partnership combines ethereal harp and compelling harmonies with good old down-to-earth yarns.

ALFONSO THE MAGNIFICENT

Alfonso the Magnificent were formed in Shoreham by Sea in 2019. Their original songs draw upon an eclectic musical pallet referencing folk, latin, jazz and classical.

Alphonso the Magnificent comprises Leo Gibbs (guitar/vocals), Mervyn Wallis (violin/vocals), David Warner (accordion/piano/keyboard), Nathan Marshall (drums/percussion). They've performed at many local venues and folk clubs, including the Ropetackle, and have played live sessions on the radio.
