Seonaid Aitken is an award-winning violinist, vocalist, composer/orchestrator and BBC broadcaster from Fife. As one of the rare few female improvising violinists in the UK influenced by the great Stéphane Grappelli, she performs with her Gypsy Jazz band Rose Room, tutors regularly at the Grappelli-Django Camp in The Netherlands and tours her 'Grappelli & Ella' duo show across Scotland.
Commissions include the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival and her latest solo album 'Chasing Sakura' was long-listed for the Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) Award.
