About this Event
This relaxed, come-as-you-are event is designed specifically for neurodivergent children and their families who benefit from predictable, low-pressure environments. Hosted at Light of Mine Playhouse Cafe, families will enjoy 1 hour of event-only access to the indoor playground, with café items available, in a welcoming, family-centered community space.
Unlike traditional high-stimulus holiday events, this experience prioritizes:
- Reduced crowd size and timed entry
- Softened lighting and moderated sound levels
- No loud music or flashing décor
- Visual schedule and clear transitions
- Flexible pacing and freedom to move
Children may engage in unstructured, play-based interactions with the Easter Bunny in whichever ways are most comfortable for them. Ensuring that photo opportunities are child-led, we foster an authentic culture free from mandatory sitting, posing, or physical contact. Children can engage with the bunny in many ways including:
- Wave from a distance
- Engage side-by-side during play
- High-five (if initiated)
- Participate in parallel play
- Take photos while playing naturally
Sensory exploration stations and holiday-themed movement opportunities will be available.
Sensory supports will also be available such as:
- Noise reducing headphones
- Calm corner with weighted lap pads
- Vibration-based outlets
- Multi-sensory movement opportunities
Families will also have access to the café for drinks and snacks (purchased separately). The environment will be structured for comfort in order to support children’s autonomy, dignity, and joyful participation — meeting children exactly where they are.
