Training Description
This presentation will provide a basic understanding of sensory processing as it pertains to early childhood development. This presentation will educate parents early childhood teachers and caretakers on the various sensory systems signs of sensory dysfunction and provide education and general recommendations for identifying and addressing sensory processing challenges in the child.

About the Presenter
Michelle DeJesus is a pediatric occupational therapist at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation Center in Hollywood FL. Michelle has been working at JDCH OP Rehabilitation for the past 5 years working with children of all ages (birth-18 years old) with varying diagnoses including autism ADHD Down syndrome cerebral palsy and more. Specifically she displays special interest in early intervention and neurorehabilitation for children. Michelle also has experiencing working in daycares prescribed pediatric extended care centers (PPEC) and home health settings. She has pursued several trainings and certifications in her years of practice pertaining to pediatric brain development neuroplasticity techniques iLS focus system constraint induced movement therapy family-centered-care and primitive reflex integration.
