Join nature connection faciliator Jade Moon for a deeply sensory experience of the land.
At the top of the hill over looking Totnes stands a row of old beeches trees. After meeting at Bowden House Community Centre we will visit these trees and under their grand and generous presence pay deep attention to each of our senses in turn, from here we will expand into a curiosity about how some of the more-than-human presences (flora and fauna) on this land experience our shared world.
This workshop flows through a carefully curated arc inspired by the 8 shields cycle found in Coyotes Guide to Connecting to Nature (John Young, Ellen Haas, Evan McGown). We will journey around this wheel moving through - opening, inspiration, activation, focus, rest, gathering and sharing, reflection, integration and finally close. This cycle offers plenty of space to connect to others, engage your curiosity, relax and integrate your experience.
There will also be an optional writing element to this workshop culminating in a collectively created poem about our sensory experience of the land.
Things to bring with you...
Suitable clothing and footwear for the weather and terrain. The grass is long and the ground is a little uneven in the field.
A sit mat or sheepskin.
A pen and paper if you wish to take part in the writing aspect of the workshop.
Any drinks or snacks you might need.
Parents this is a fmaily friendly event but is not aimed at children. 8 years and above as a guideline.
Jade is a member of the Bowden Pillars Future Nature Circle. She has lived on the land for the last 14 years, during which time she has developed a deep relationship with it, walking it regulary and getting to know the flora and fauna. She trained in Nature Connection with Change in Nature.
