About this Event
Have Your Say on the National SEND Reform as part of one Rochdale Consultation
Rochdale Borough Council is inviting parents, carers, young people, schools and local partners to join us at a series of SEND Reform Consultation Roadshow events taking place across the borough over the coming weeks. You are able to feed back indidivudually to this reform or to Leaders of Local SEND Services.
What is the Roadshow?
We are hosting a programme of local, drop‑in events designed to help families and stakeholders understand the national SEND Reform proposals and what they may mean for children and young people in Rochdale.
Each session will include:
- an overview of the national reforms
- a summary of what could change locally
- space for questions, discussion and feedback
- support to take part in the formal consultation
Why Are We Doing This?
The national SEND Reform programme will bring some of the most significant changes to special educational needs and disability support in many years.
We know many parents and professionals have questions about how these reforms may affect:
- access to support
- Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- early help and inclusion in mainstream settings
- specialist provision and pathways
- responsibilities and expectations
It is essential that Rochdale’s response reflects the real experiences of our families, schools and services. Your insight will directly shape our Local SEND Reform Plan, which we must submit to the Government later this year.
What We Want From You
We want to hear from as many people as possible who have a stake in SEND in Rochdale.
Your feedback will help us:
- understand what is working well
- identify what needs to change
- ensure reforms improve, not reduce, support for children and young people
- build a system that is more inclusive, responsive and easier to navigate
- strengthen our shared vision for SEND across Rochdale
Your voice is vital. Whether you have a child with an EHCP, are waiting for assessment, support children in a school or service, or are simply interested in the changes—your views matter.
How to Get Involved
Roadshow dates, venues and booking information will be available through Eventbrite and shared through schools, early years settings, health partners and community networks.
All sessions are free, informal and open to everyone.
