SEND Law in Practice: Supporting Children Together
We are pleased to invite you to SEND Law in Practice: Supporting Children Together. This is a free, full-day Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) advice conference co-hosted by the University of Liverpool Law Clinic and Irwin Mitchell.
Join us in person for an engaging event all about SEND Law and how we can work together to support children better.
This conference is designed for parents, carers, school staff, SENCOs, and professionals working with children and young people with SEND, and will provide clear, practical guidance on SEND law and education-related issues.
The conference will feature nationally recognised SEND specialists, including solicitors from Irwin Mitchell, solicitors clinicians and advisers from the University of Liverpool Law Clinic, academics from the University of Liverpool, leading Education Law barrister Ollie Persey (Garden Court Chambers) and SEND experts from The Brain Charity.
Topics will include:
· Local authority duties and children out of school
· EOTAS and home education
· SEND Tribunal processes
· Recent legal developments and key case law
· Neurodiversity, including sensory and communication needs, and strategies to support them
· Sources of legal and practical support
