The Story
"Gilded in Two Suns" is a series of self-portraits inspired by Renaissance and Baroque painting traditions, explored through the lens of a South Asian American experience. Having spent half her life in India and the other half in the United States, Piya Samant's work reflects the space between heritage and reinvention, memory and identity.
Through dramatic light, rich symbolism, and intimate portraiture, the exhibition becomes a visual dialogue between two cultures, two histories, and the evolving self.
Join us for an evening of art, and experience this solo exhibition exploring culture and belonging through classical-inspired portraiture.
