Self-Defense Workshop for Healthcare Workers at Legion AJJ

Violent incidents involving healthcare workers are on the rise. Studies show that nurses, doctors, and EMTs are among the most at-risk professionals for workplace violence, with reported assaults increasing significantly over the past several years. Some sources put percentage of healthcare workers that have experienced violence at least once as high as 76%. Too many healthcare workers show up to their shift not knowing how to protect themselves if a situation turns dangerous, and that uncertainty takes a toll.

This 2-hour, hands-on workshop is designed to help change that.

Led by 3 professional self-defense instructors, you'll learn practical, effective techniques that you can actually use in a real situation. No prior experience needed, just a willingness to train. We'll walk you through a step-by-step gameplan for de-escalating and defending against violent individuals, so you leave with more confidence than before.

• Paige Clymer: Black belt in jiu-jitsu. Head of women's program a Legion. World Champion.
• Pablo Perez: Brown Belt in jiu-jitsu. World Champion, Fundamentals Program instructor. Multiple years of experience working as a security guard in hospitals.

Do I need any martial arts experience to attend?

No. This event is for beginners to learn the basics of self-defense. No experience is required. People with experience can gain a lot as well!
