Self Defense Sundays
A weekly self defense training session for The Free Black Women's Library community.
1PM - 2.45 PM/Sundays in April
Attending all 4 session is highly recommended but not required.
Space is limited. Please do not register unless you plan on attending.
Dragon Combat Club is a NYC based volunteer inititive for self defense that was formed in 2020 as a counter measure for anti-Asian Violence. This training (codenamed as Shankjitsu) consists of a series of games that rapidly improve an individual's awareness, as well as their physical and mental attributes towards survival.
The Free Black Women's Library was founded in 2015 a literary hub, social site, Black Feminist archive, and community care space that features over 5000 books by Black women and Black non-binary folks, a wide range of free public programs, a free store, a period pantry, a backyard garden, a virtual reading club, and weekly book swap. This project was started and is run by OlaRonke Akinmowo.
