YWCA Greater Austin’s GenYW program is providing this no-cost group to exploreself-care and wellness. Participants aged 14-17 will explore self-care and coping methods to promote healthy emotional regulation for teens and overall wellness, with an emphasis on DIY and mindfulness activities. The group will meet weekly on Wednesdays from 2-4pm starting on June 5th. There will be no group the week of July 4th or on June 19th.
- Youth must be 14-17 years old
- Project materials will be provided by YWCA Greater Austin
- The group runs for 6-weeks and we ask that participants attend at least 4 sessions
- Youth are welcome to bring snacks/food - please avoid peanuts/tree nuts
The GenYW program provides psychoeducational groups and mental health services for youth in their school setting as well as in their communities and at our offices. For summer we will be offering abbreviated versions of our program at no-cost to participants. Additionally, participants and their families may be eligible to have access to no-cost mental health services if they want to pursue services.
Paperwork must be completed by parents/guardians prior to the start of groups. Participants will be asked to complete brief surveys throughout the program to help YWCA Greater Austin understand the impact of this group.
