November is Epilepsy Awareness Month—a time to show support for individuals and families affected by epilepsy and seizures. This year’s theme, Empowering Every Journey, reflects Epilepsy Alliance Louisiana’s commitment to standing beside those impacted by epilepsy, whether through education, resources, or compassionate support.
In line with this theme, we invite you to an impactful evening of Seizure First Aid & Safety Training, hosted in the beautiful Lawton Hall, located inside LSU’s iconic Tiger Stadium. This free training, led by Dr. Yash Shah, a renowned Pediatric Neurologist from Our Lady of the Lake Health, will equip you with life-saving skills to safely respond to seizures—knowledge that can make a profound difference, as 1 in 10 people will experience a seizure in their lifetime.
Attendees will also hear from LSU’s own CJ Daniels, an epilepsy advocate and Vice President of Angels of Epilepsy, alongside his mother, Natalie Beavers—an epilepsy warrior and founder of Angels of Epilepsy. Daniels has been a passionate voice for epilepsy awareness, previously leading his teammates at Liberty University in a campaign to wear purple ribbons for Epilepsy Awareness Month. His efforts gained national attention, highlighted on ESPN during a live broadcast in November 2023, inspiring audiences and underscoring the importance of raising awareness. Together, CJ and Natalie will share their personal experiences, highlighting the resilience required to navigate the challenges of epilepsy and the importance of building informed and supportive communities.
Thanks to the generosity of The NeuroMedical Center, each ticketed guest will receive a commemorative Game Day t-shirt printed by Silk Screen Shop upon arrival while supplies last.
Empower yourself with the knowledge and skills to make a difference. Join us in building a more seizure and epilepsy-aware community.
Together, we can empower every journey.
This training event is a collaborative effort, made possible by the support and generosity of LSU Athletics, Epilepsy Alliance Louisiana, Angels of Epilepsy, Our Lady of the Lake Health, and The NeuroMedical Center Clinic.
