SEGEG 2025: half-day meeting sharing published & ongoing genetic epidemiology research—talks & networking in South England
About this Event

South England Genetic Epidemiology Group (SEGEG) 2025

Join colleagues working at the intersection of genetics, epidemiology and public health for the SEGEG 2025 meeting, a one‑day event to disseminate published and ongoing research from across the region. The meeting highlights new methods, population studies, gene–environment analyses and translational work that connects genetic epidemiology to clinical and public‑health practice.

What to expect

  • Audience: researchers, clinicians, PhD students, statisticians and public‑health professionals with interests in genetic epidemiology.
  • Format: plenary talks of published and in‑progress studies.
  • Topics: genome‑wide and sequencing studies, polygenic risk scores, gene–environment interaction, population structure and diversity, intersection of rare and common variant results and approaches, data linkage and privacy, translation to clinical practice and public health.

Why attend

  • Hear concise summaries of recent published work from the South England research community.
  • Learn about ongoing studies and preliminary results to identify collaboration opportunities.
  • Discuss methodological challenges and reproducible workflows with peers.
  • Network with early‑career researchers and established investigators in a compact, focused setting.

Who is speaking

  • Mix of invited speakers representing universities, NHS research units and public‑health bodies across South England.

Logistics

  • Time: Half‑day in‑person meeting from 13:00-17:00 .
  • Date: 20 November 2025
