About this Event
Artist Lela Harris (b 1979) explores the stories behind her exhibition Facing the Past: Black Lancastrians, uncovering hidden histories of Black lives in Lancashire during the 1700βs. Through art, archival research, and personal reflection, Harris challenges familiar narratives of British history, bringing overlooked voices into focus.
Her work invites audiences to reconsider the past; not as something distant, but as something that continues to shape identity, community, and belonging today.
