Seed Starting 101

Join us for a fun 1.5‑hour workshop led by Broward County Master Gardener Volunteers to learn the essentials of starting plants from seeds. Perfect for gardeners of all levels, you’ll discover key techniques and tips for successful seed germination and healthy seedlings.

• How to select high-quality seeds suitable for South Florida gardens
• Materials and tools needed for seed starting (trays, soil, lights, labels, and more)
• Step-by-step demonstration: sowing seeds and creating an ideal environment
• Common mistakes to avoid and troubleshooting tips
• Care for young seedlings: watering, thinning, and transplanting basics
