In celebration of reducing plastic use in July, join us at the Iowa City Farmers Market on June 27, 2026 to make seed pots! Natural, non-plastic materials will be used for the seed pots, and a variety of seeds will be available for planting.
What: Seed Pot Making Event
When: Saturday, June 27 from 8:30 a.m. to noon
Where: Iowa City Farmers Market - event booth will be located on the north side of Chauncey Swan Park (405 E. Washington St., Iowa City)
Participating in this event is no cost. At this event, participants will be able to sign up to participate in the City's plastic waste reduction program hosted during the month of July. More information on this program is available at: www.icgov.org/reduce
This event is a collaboration between the City of Iowa City's Climate Action and Outreach Office, Resource Management Division, Parks and Recreation Department, and Green Iowa AmeriCorps.
